Moe earned her nickname in the Navy; her maiden name is Moses. She and her husband, John, met at a Navy School in Bainbridge, Maryland.
Though Moe was taught to read the Bible and pray during her childhood, she wasn’t ‘raised’ in church. It wasn’t until she was in the 10th grade that her family began to attend a Church of Christ on a regular basis. John was raised in the Baptist faith but neither of them had any Biblical teaching on Holy Spirit.
Through a series of events while stationed in Hawaii, Moe read the book ‘A New Song’ written by Pat Boone. What she read so excited her that she determined if what the book said was true, she wanted it! So, all alone at her home, and having never seen anyone baptized with Holy Spirit or speaking in tongues, she dared to ask God. Father God answered and filled her with His Holy Spirit. Some days later, she and John began a home fellowship. Friends came to eat and enjoy good company but it always segued into the Word and prayer.
Moe experienced her first ‘hands-on healing’ when Ken, a friend and neighbor, injured his foot playing tennis. He had an appointment to see a doctor to see if it was broken. Before going to his appointment, Moe and Ken’s wife, Becky, prayed for him and he suddenly stood up; the swelling and pain had gone and he was healed.
John and Moe later left Hawaii for California but were unable to find a home worship group that they felt comfortable with. They eventually began attending an Assembly of God and it was there that John also received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
As their children grew up, Moe was very involved in the Assembly of God’s Missionette Program; first serving as a leader then the coordinator of the program at her church. Over the course of time, several of the parents began sneaking their younger, three year old girls into the ‘Rainbows’ girls meetings, ages four to five. Moe happily responded by developing an age-appropriate ‘Little Lambs’ curriculum for the younger children and welcomed them into the group. Through the years, Moe also led Children’s Church where she wrote skits for puppet, drama and Bible Story productions.
Moe continues to have a very active ministry life. She currently leads a Women’s Ministry and Intercessory Prayer Group at her local church. In January Moe joined the ministry team of Gulf Coast Prayer and Healing Center. Each Wednesday morning she facilitates a Bible Study at her home where she shares God’s Word on Divine Healing.
