Patricia is an ordained minister with New Beginnings Center Ministries. Since 1985, her passion has been in teaching the Word of God and encouraging Christians to live in the fullness of their new life in Christ Jesus.
Patricia’s story began in 1985 after a divine encounter with Jesus Christ in which she experienced the grace of God setting her free from the grip Satan had over her and her family. Though she had given her life to the Lord as a teenager, she knew little about the Word of God. Consequently, at the age of 39 she found herself in the addictive grip of the drug world. In her testimony, she tells how she was so far down that she had to ‘look up to even see bottom.’ Drugs, and the drug lifestyle, had reduced her life to a state of hopelessness and utter despair.
Prior to Patricia’s supernatural deliverance in 1985, her family was completely shattered. Her life and home had become so degenerate that her children no longer lived at home. Her husband, A.W., was serving a 60- year drug trafficking conviction in the Florida State Prison System. Patricia was facing life imprisonment in Federal prison for drug smuggling, and the ravages of drug use had wasted away her physical health. Just as many who are destitute of hope, Patricia felt she had no option but to end it all in suicide. But God – how she loves that statement – but God had other plans. Patricia tells the amazing story of how God, on the very day she planned to end her life by suicide, in His infinite love and mercy, gave her a new life; a new beginning in Jesus Christ. His mercies truly are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23).
On April 23, 1985 she was miraculously freed from drug addiction and began a new journey living for and walking with the Lord Jesus Christ. The same miracle power of God which set her free, guided her in the restoration of her family. God brought her children home to both her and to Him. Today all of them are children of God. Her husband was also miraculously freed from both a life of sin and prison. All Federal drug charges against her were dropped and the healing power of the blood of Christ restored her broken body. Patricia never tires in sharing how God miraculously transformed her life and the life of her family and how He wants to do the same for everyone held captive and in bondage to addictions and the enslavement of sin. It’s her desire to instill hope in the hopeless; to tell them that the one true living God in heaven· desperately loves them and wants to transform the shambles of their broken life into a testimony of His glory and triumph. To tell people, from her personal experience, that there is no problem or circumstance too big or overwhelming which God is unable to handle.
Patricia’s personal ministry working for the Lord began shortly after her deliverance. Over the years, she has been instrumental in starting and operating a number of ministries. In Fort Myers, Florida, she founded Inmates for Christ, recruiting and training teams who ministered in the Florida State Prisons, Lee and Hendry County Jails, Lee County Juvenile Detention Center, and the Lee County Children’s Home. She and her husband later pastored Zion Fellowship Church in Crestview, Florida and New Beginnings Center Ministries (NBCM) in Fort Myers, Florida. In 2016 they moved the ministry headquarters of NBCM to Loxley, Alabama where they have assisted their son, David, with NBCM Prison Ministry which he had begun in the Alabama Department of Corrections in 2010. And, with the help of numerous laborers for the Lord, they have been instrumental in establishing Gulf Coast Prayer and Healing Center (GCPHC), a prayer and training center, in Loxley where they conduct Sunday Services and three training semesters each year. As a team, Patricia and the GCPHC ministry facilitators, work together encouraging students to identify and minister in their individual God-given passion.
Students learn what it means to be a new man, a child of the Most High God, a king and priest in the Kingdom of God. They learn that spiritual warfare is both defensive and offensive. They learn how focused and tenacious prayer sees results, and they learn how to minister in the authority of Jesus Christ and the power of Holy Spirit in the sphere of their influence.
